Leaf shaped Autumn Words with Tagxedo

http://www.tagxedo.com/art/997baab1bf11468c

We are focusing on vocabulary and this would be a great way and easy for the children to accomplish a great visual image in a shape form using Tagxedo.
Run the mouse over the words to see them become interactive and move. Fun!

Having Fun with Glogster

The children in my class are going to have lots of fun creating these in groups. Each child can add something to it for a graffiti about water and even add their own sound effects. Looking forward it.

On-line graphing for kids

Have just trialled using http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/index.asp which has an easy to use on-line graphing tool.  The graph can be saved in a variety of formats and imported to easily to blogs etc.  For this example I have used small packets of m and m's or similar sweets to discuss fractions and statistics with a year 3 and 4 class.

Mosaic Making

This mosaic of myself was made using  ideas from Adrian Bruce toolbox.  Using On-line Mosaic creator
I was able to create this mage of myself.  A good lead in to art when looking at Mosaics or Collage.
Easy to use, complete, save and then upload.

Simple Water Cartoon using Toondoo.com

Water?

Toondoo certainly has possibilities for the children creating a cartoon strip. Lots of characters to choose from and backgrounds. The embed code is also available for placement in blog. I created this simple cartoon to show the children and hook them in to the "Water Cycle"

Digital Popart using Web 2.0 tools

This was easy to use and children could take images of a theme or particular focus of study.
Then create popart for display.  I uploaded this picture of my son in his race gear
and plan to share it with Room 10 this week.  Using bighugelabs.com via Web 2.0 and Education
Thanks to J.S. for providing such a range of things to trial.

Using Comix

I created a series of 4 slides depicting myself with my class delivering just how the cartoon strip might be used in the classroom. Excellent for implementing direct speech. What is said is in the bubbles. Students can then progress to using speech marks for dialogue within a narrative. IT was fun using comix, easy to use but unfortunately you can't upload directly from the site. Children can print out their own copy and printscreen option.
So many things to explore and trial - thanks to all those who continue to inspire us on a daily basis. Your contributions to your professional blogs helps so many of us to follow in your footsteps.

Picture Teller

I really enjoyed using this tool and found it quite easy and even managed to attach the sound easily. Will definitely try with my class as another option to Photostory

ABC ya

http://www.abcya.com/word_clouds.htm Thanks to Victoria, I once again have experimented with a new site before letting my class explore it. Fantastic and simple to use. Word cloud is simple and easy to use especially for a quick brainstorm or response to a reading activity. There is also a very good animations component. Children can visit here and practice creating a bouncing ball sequence. A very good introduction for the children as they can see first hand how it works.

Tagxedo

Thanks to Victoria I have played with Tagxedo. http://www.tagxedo.com
It really was fantastic and easy to use. I tried it very briefly and definitely see the benefits of using it. Similar to wordle but I think even easier.
